Registration & contracts

Is there a registration fee?

Yes. There is a one-time, non-refundable registration fee of $75 to reserve your child’s space.

Where can I find more information?

You will receive the Parent Handbook at registration. We strongly recommend reviewing it carefully, as it answers many questions about View Royal Childcare policies and procedures.

Do I need to sign a term contract?

No, we do not require a term contract. If you wish to withdraw, you must provide one month’s written notice starting on the first day of the month.

Hours & extras

Do you offer extended childcare hours?

No, we do not offer extended hours. Our regular hours are 7:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. In fall and winter, drop-off is by 9:30 a.m. and pick-up is by 5:15 p.m. In spring and summer, drop-off is by 9:00 a.m. and pick-up is by 5:15 p.m.

Do you offer field trips or special events?

Yes. We organize at least three field trips each academic year for the Shining Stars program (ages 3–5). Parent or guardian participation is required. We also try to celebrate occasions such as Halloween, Diwali, Chanukah, Christmas, New Year, Lunar New Year, and Valentine’s Day.

Daily life & curriculum

What curriculum does the daycare program follow?

Your child will take part in a play-based program. Our planned activities support learning in six key developmental areas.

Do you encourage parent involvement?

Yes. We welcome parent volunteers on field trips, and we also invite parents to speak about their work when we learn about community helpers.

Health & safety

Will you administer medication if needed?

Yes. We can administer medication in our care, including prescriptions for serious medical conditions and allergies. A parent must complete a consent form before any medication is given.

05 · Staffing

Educator ratios

What is the educator-to-child ratio in the Shining Stars (ages 3–5) program?

The ratio is 1:8, with one educator for every eight children.

What is the educator-to-child ratio in the Little Bears (infants and toddlers) program?

The ratio is 1:4, with one educator for every four children.
